Best Wedding Venues in Norfolk: A Wedding Videographer’s Guide

October 22, 2026

What are the best wedding venues in Norfolk?

Norfolk has endless wedding venues, each with their own beauty and charm… but where do you start when looking for somewhere to get married? There are many practical reasons for choosing a venue, the size, the budget, the facilities but ultimately it comes down to what vibe you’re going for. Whether it’s the chilled DIY vibe of a barn wedding such as Curds Hall Barn, the historic charm and medieval vibe of Pentney Abbey or a countryside manor like Reymerston Hall. There’s plenty of choice!

As a Norfolk wedding videographer, I have my own perspective on the best wedding venues in Norfolk which may not be for the reasons you consider when you start your wedding planning journey.

A Wedding Videographer’s Perspective

When people ask me, “what’s your favourite venue you’ve filmed a wedding at?”, I usually struggle. That’s because it’s not always that simple, weddings are made by the people. It doesn’t need to be a grand venue to be a banging wedding film. That being said, there are some venues which I do mention for the following reasons:

-I filmed an amazing wedding day there… so naturally I have fond memories.

-Lots of natural light! Light is always helpful to a videographer.

-Lots of space… particularly in ceremony spaces where I set up multiple cameras. Bonus points for having nice outdoor ceremony locations! Which leads me on to the next in the list…

-Variety- having different options to have your ceremony or your wedding breakfast so you can really make the day your own. Also having different parts of the day in different spaces can keep the film visually interesting.

So… what are the best venues then?

OK so here’s some of my favourites:

Aerial View of Barn Drift wedding venue on the North Norfolk coast

Barn Drift

I think Barn Drift covers all 4 of my points. First of all, I filmed a really fun wedding day there for Freya & Max which naturally led to one of my favourite films I’ve created. The beauty of Barn Drift is you can hire the place for a whole weekend so your friends and family can all stay, this always tends to make the weddings more fun… the formalities are over and everyone is ready to just enjoy the day.

It’s a barn surrounded by massive windows so there’s LOADS of light… tick! The morning prep is flooded with natural light which then moves on to the multiple ceremony location options, my favourite option is outside next to the flint wall with views of the Glaven Valley.

This leads me on to the variety that Barn Drift offers, for the wedding breakfast, this can be held inside, outside under the canape or even in the hangar… yes a hangar! When the evening comes, everyone walks through the meadow which brings them to an old hangar overlooking the coast and Blakeney point. This is such a cool space for a party!

Who’s it for? Couples wanting a full weekend celebration, countryside surroundings, accommodation and a choice of ceremony and party spaces.

Pentney Abbey gatehouse wedding venue in Norfolk

Pentney Abbey

First of all, Pentney Abbey has that medieval charm which looks amazing on camera, see Katie & Conner’s film to see why!. It also has a nice flow to the day, in part due to the amazing team at Unique Norfolk Venues who help to keep everything running smoothly and allow you to just enjoy your day.

It starts with the ceremony where there are multiple options- Upstairs inside the gatehouse which was a former monestry, with it’s arched windows overlooking miles of countryside or outside in the rose garden with the gatehouse as a back drop.

The drinks reception tends to happen in the rose garden behind the gatehouse before guests head towards the barn with it’s exposed beams and stone walls flooded with natural light (my favourite!)

I love the variety that Pentney Abbey offers and how the day flows so naturally, it’s also the BEST for golden hour! Check out the proof below from Cristin & Justin’s special day.

Wedding breakfast area at Curds Hall Barn

Curds Hall Barn

Curds Hall Barn is a great venue for really making the day your own, just as Roxy & Tom and Hannah & Chris did!

Surrounded by countryside, it really feels like you’re in the middle of nowhere and the place is your own. With plenty of space to walk around and have some beautiful golden hour shots, firepits out in the courtyard for toasting marshmallows on those summer evenings and even space for glamping!

Reymerston Hall

If you’re after a venue with elegant vibes then Reymerston Hall could be the one. It has everything in one place from a beautiful natural light flooded honeymoon suite, a ceremony room with the biggest window ever and the wedding breakfast space with natural brickwork and exposed beams for enjoying the fantastic food they offer.

The party ends in the massive ceremony space but it starts in the wedding breakfast area. The secret to an amazing start to a party? Maybe it’s getting yourselves some singing waiters like Emily & Callum did…

Aerial view of Norwich and The Assembly House

The Assembly House

“A Georgian mansion. Grand chandeliers. Candlelit ceremonies. Rooms steeped in romance. Welcome to the most magical wedding venue in Norwich.” – The words of The Assembly House themselves.

I love how The Assembly House is situated perfectly within the city centre, it offers rooms for prep and to stay over as well as a small garden space for those nice summer weddings, a huge ceremony room which also holds the wedding breakfast and evening party… and what a space it is for parties. Buy maybe I’ve been spoilt by Alicha & Tom’s mad dancefloor…

Frequently Asked Questions About Wedding Venues in Norfolk

What are the best wedding venues in Norfolk?

The best wedding venue depends on the kind of wedding you want. For a relaxed countryside celebration, Curds Hall Barn is a great option to explore. Pentney Abbey offers historic character, Barn Drift is ideal for couples drawn to a weekend wedding surrounded by nature, Reymerston Hall has an elegant country house feel and The Assembly House is a brilliant option for a grand city wedding in Norwich.

What should you look for when choosing a wedding venue?

Think about your guest numbers, budget, accommodation, ceremony options and how you want the day to flow. It’s also worth considering the atmosphere you’re after, whether that’s a relaxed outdoor celebration, a rustic barn wedding or something more formal. Visit your shortlist in person and ask about the practical details that matter most to you.

Are there good barn wedding venues in Norfolk?

Yes, Norfolk has loads of barn venues for couples who want a relaxed countryside wedding. Curds Hall Barn and Barn Drift are two venues I’d recommend exploring if you’re drawn to this style. Both offer their own character and opportunities to make the day feel personal.

Why does a wedding venue matter when choosing a videographer?

The venue can have a big impact on the look and feel of your wedding film. Natural light, interesting architecture, outdoor spaces and room to move around can all help create variety in the footage. However, the people, atmosphere and moments throughout the day are just as important as the setting itself.

So, Which Is the Best Wedding Venue in Norfolk?

If you’ve made it this far and you’re still wondering which of these wedding venues is the best, I’m not sure I can give you a straight answer!

Each one offers something different and I think the best choice comes down to the kind of wedding day you want. If you’re after a relaxed weekend with your friends and family, Barn Drift is a brilliant option. For historic charm, Pentney Abbey is hard to beat, while Curds Hall Barn is great for couples who want to put their own stamp on the day. Reymerston Hall offers a lovely mix of countryside elegance and rustic details and The Assembly House is perfect if you’re after something a little grander in the heart of Norwich.

If there’s one thing I’ve learnt from filming weddings across Norfolk, it’s that the venue is only part of the story. Some of my favourite wedding films haven’t been about the grandest buildings or the most incredible views. They’ve been about the people, the speeches that had everyone in tears, the unexpected moments on the dance floor and all the little things that make your wedding yours.

So, wherever you decide to get married, make sure it’s somewhere you can relax, enjoy yourselves and spend time with the people who matter most.

Of course… if you’re looking for a Norfolk wedding videographer to capture it all, I’d love to hear about your plans. You can take a look at my wedding films to get a feel for my style, or get in touch with me here to tell me a bit about your wedding day.

I’d love to hear what you’re planning!
