Pentney Abbey Wedding Videographer | A Real Wedding Day

June 17, 2026

As a Pentney Abbey wedding videographer, I can’t quite put my finger on it but there is something magical about a wedding here. With its medieval gatehouse, romantic ruins and beautiful Norfolk countryside setting, it provides the perfect backdrop for a special wedding day. Katie and Conner chose this iconic venue for their special day and they chose me as the videographer to capture their day. From the ceremony where Katie and Conner both wrote touching and emotional personal vows, to the bongo-bingo after the wedding breakfast, every moment reflected their unique story and the incredible atmosphere that Pentney Abbey is known for.

Planning a Wedding at Pentney Abbey

What did you enjoy most about the wedding planning process?

K&C– The thing we enjoyed most about the planning process was being able to make the day entirely ours, adding in little features that reflect who we are and the people we love, adding little nods to people we’ve lost and just being able to make our dreams a reality.

What made you choose the wedding venue?

K&C– There are so many beautiful venues locally but Pentney was the one that truly captured our hearts. From the moment we saw it, we knew it was the venue of our dreams. The Gatehouse feels like something out of a film and the surrounding grounds are stunning. We loved that it gave us the freedom to personalise the space and make it feel uniquely ours whilst also providing services like the wedding planner and incredible food!

What was important to you while planning your day? How did you want the day to feel?

K&C– We just really wanted the day to be full of fun, for us and for the guests. We didn’t want too much pressure on routines or timings, just for everyone to have an amazing time and let loose.

A Memorable Wedding Day

What was your most memorable moment from your wedding day?

K&C– The most memorable moment from our day I think would be our entrance in to the barn before dinner, entering the room filled with all our favourite people, filled with love and excitement was magical, it set the tone for the rest of the day and is a moment I replay in my mind constantly.

What was the funniest moment of your wedding day?

K&C– There are so many things I can think of, I’m actually not sure which one was the funniest, in chronological order they would have to be, my uncle playing bongo bingo and not only calling it wrong once but twice and having the whole room pointing and booing at him… the next would be when we were taking sunset photos and Conner drops me whilst we’re spinning and then it was when we were doing our first dance, we were just absolutely buzzing with how well the day was going, realised we were maybe a few too many drinks in and that we had to dance in front of everyone, it was so much fun and we laughed the whole way through.

Which moments on your wedding day made you most emotional?

K&C– I think it would be when we were saying our vows, just recollecting on how much Conner meant to me and how much he has supported me over the years and the fact that I was marrying my best friend, especially the line where I said ‘you’ve held my heart together when it’s been broken’, makes me cry now thinking about it and how truly wonderful he is.

The Importance of Booking a Videographer

Your wedding day will pass in a blur of emotions, laughter and unforgettable moments. While photographs beautifully capture individual memories, a wedding film allows you to relive the atmosphere, voices, movement and emotions of the day for years to come. At Pentney Abbey, a venue renowned for its medieval architecture, romantic gardens and stunning Norfolk countryside setting, videography becomes even more valuable. As a Wedding Videographer in Norfolk, I have worked at Pentney Abbey on multiple occasions and I was lucky enough to capture Katie and Conner’s day.

What were your favourite parts of your wedding film?

K&C- Honestly, we loved everything about our wedding film. It captured not just the events of the day, but the feeling of it too, all the love, happiness and excitement that surrounded us from start to finish. Watching it takes us right back to those moments and makes us feel like we’re reliving the best day of our lives all over again.

K&C– We especially loved seeing all the little moments that we missed on the day itself, our family and friends laughing, dancing and enjoying themselves together. The film beautifully highlighted all the important moments while also capturing the small, candid memories that made the day so special. It’s something we’ll treasure forever.

Pentney Abbey Wedding Videographer

If you’re planning your wedding and looking for a Pentney Abbey wedding videographer then the goal (for me at least) is simple:

I show up.
Blend in.
And capture all those natural and authentic moments.

No awkward posing, no turning your wedding into a film set, no making people feel awkward. Just the real moments as they happen. All while making it look cinematic.

The laughs, the hugs, the chaos on the dance floor and all those little in-between bits you probably won’t even notice on the day.

Because those little moments with all those people you care about are the ones you’ll want to watch back in 20 years.

I would love to hear what you have planned for your wedding at Pentney Abbey, so let’s have a chat!

“From the very beginning, Michael was organised, professional and incredibly easy to talk to. We had a pre-wedding shoot before the big day, which was so much fun and really helped us feel relaxed in front of the camera. He guided us throughout without anything ever feeling forced or awkward.

On the wedding day, Michael arrived ready to go and got stuck in straight away. His documentary-style approach was exactly what we were looking for, he blended seamlessly with our guests and captured so many natural moments without ever feeling intrusive or overbearing. He also brought his drone and captured some absolutely stunning shots of the venue, which added such a special touch to our films.

We received a teaser, highlights film, and feature-length film, all of which were beautifully edited and put together with so much care and attention to detail. Watching them felt like being transported right back to our wedding day. Michael captured every emotion, moment and memory so beautifully and the final videos exceeded all of our expectations.

We are absolutely thrilled with the films and know we will treasure them forever. If you are looking for a Norfolk wedding Videographer, we cannot recommend Stratford Films highly enough.”
